Grilled Peaches with a Hint of Spice
The Venice Farmers Market is a great place to buy fresh, local peaches for grilling. Two of the best vendors for peaches are Dusty's Produce and C+F Produce. These vendors offer a variety of different peach varieties, so you're sure to find the perfect ones for your grilled peaches.
Ingredients:
4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted from C+F or Dusty’s Produce
1 tablespoon olive oil from Earth’s Complete
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Optional: 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese or blue cheese from Stamper Cheese
Optional: 1 tablespoon honey from Earth’s Complete or Jamie’s Jams
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium heat.
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Brush the peach halves with the olive oil mixture.
Grill the peaches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are soft and slightly charred.
Serve immediately with goat cheese or blue cheese, if desired.
Drizzle with honey, if desired.
Tips:
Use ripe, but still firm peaches for the best results.
If you don't have a grill, you can grill the peaches in a grill pan over medium heat.
For a sweeter flavor, add 1 tablespoon of honey to the olive oil mixture.
Serve the grilled peaches with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Enjoy!
